Alexandra Frost is an Adelaide contralto, the rarest female voice type with a depth and timbre that is unique. With a velvet voice and a gift for vivid, heartfelt storytelling, she brings cabaret, jazz and blues to life in a way audiences don’t forget.
She most often performs as the Alexandra Frost Duo with pianist Ed Heddle, her musical partner of ten years. Their synergy on stage is a joy to witness, built on a decade of trust, playfulness and deep listening.
Alexandra’s Adelaide Fringe cabaret, Hear My Voice, premiered to acclaim in 2023 and returned in 2024 for three more performances of the 5-star show. In 2025 she brought it to Ginger’s Vintage Lounge Bar in Goodwood, a venue loved for championing independent artists who create and perform their own work.
Ginger’s has since become her home stage. There, Alexandra has developed her own improvised cabaret style, weaving the songs and stories of great jazz, blues and gospel artists together with her own. The result is an intimate, honest way to experience this music, all year round and not just in festival season. Her September 2026 show sold out a week in advance.

Start the festive season with a velvet evening of cabaret, jazz and blues. After the September show sold out a week in advance, Alexandra Frost and pianist Ed Heddle are returning to Ginger's Vintage Lounge Bar for another intimate night of songs and the stories behind them. Expect music made famous by Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Édith Piaf, Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall and Gregory Porter, sung with heart and woven together with honest, vivid storytelling. Settle in with dinner, then let the music carry you through the evening. Seating is limited, so book early.
